We recommend you to come to our Congress

We recommend you our next Event: it will be an EMMA-supported, ESF-sponsored Exploratory Workshop. (Note - meeting not open to the public - two EMMA's bursaries !!!).  Take note: there are TWO social events.

The Adolescent Brain. New Insights From Clinical And Animal Models

Convened by: G. Laviola (IT), Senior Researcher at ISS and Senior Member of EMMA's Directive Commitee -- Location: Istituto Superiore di Sanità (ISS), 23-24 October 2009, Roma, Italy.

Keywords: Adolescence; Brain development; Genes; Prevention; Psychopathology; Sensation seeking.

Take a Look to the Report: Summary and Further ...

Adolescence, the transitional period between childhood and adulthood, is often characterized by extreme-oriented behaviours, possibly mediated by discontinuities in brain development. Discussion of recent evidence from humans and animal models may point to new directions in research so as to better understand neurobiological basis of normative adolescence, and, in turn, the neural and genetic factors underlying the increased vulnerability of adolescents to psychopathology, including drug abuse.
